Beachbody Transformations

My story starts in 2005 when I was in the best shape of my life.  Before this my life was very normal and I followed the path of getting a college education and was working full time in the financial industry and was successful.  At that time I weighed 175 Lbs., was very active and was country line dancing every week and maybe more.  I owned my own condo and was very happy.

From 2007 to 2010 when the economy crashed my safe job disappeared when I was laid off.  I found another job and within 2 years I was laid off again.  I found a third job in the same industry and was laid off within a year this time.  By this time I was done working in the financial industry.  I moved into the food industry and starting serving in a restaurants part time.

2011 to 2014 was a difficult time in my life and where I saw a huge weight gain over a small period of time.  In 3/2011 my mother had a stroke and became paralyzed on her right side and lost her ability to speak.  Shortly after this 10/2011 my father went into the hospital for a routine operation and 6 months later he came home.  In 7/2012 mom came home and my sister and I decided that we would take care of our parents in their home.  My sister had a job where she could work from home.  I decided to sell my condo and move back home.  I was still working part time job and started working in the hotel industry overnight shift.

During this time my sister was working out with Shaun T doing Insanity and getting some awesome results.  I was doing nothing and getting fatter.  I reached 250 Lbs. which was my highest weight in my life.

6/2013 is when I made the decision to do something with my life because I was going the wrong way.  At this time I also had a health scare with possible prostrate cancer.  It turned out negative but it took three months and I was really scared.

So I started T25 and got no results because I didn't do all the workouts and never changed my diet.
I then moved to P90X3 and lost 10 Lbs.
Insanity was next, I lost 10 Lbs.
Then Piyo and lost 15 Lbs.
P90X3 again for another 5 Lbs.

From 6/2013 thru 9/2014 Lost total of 40 Lbs.  I was half way to my goal of 170 Lbs.

From 9/2014 to now 8/2015 I fell off the wagon a bit.  Mostly with the eating part and the workouts have been sporadic at best.  One major reason was dad's health problems became serious in 2015.  He was hospitalized 4 times until he passed away on mom's birthday March 18.  It's taken me a while to get through the grieving process.

My second and last health wake up call came in April 2016.  I was getting very tired in the afternoons and was getting a lot of headaches.  I was watching a video of my sisters puppy (see below) and wondering where all the heavy breathing was coming from.  I was just sitting and I never realized how bad my breathing was.  So I took my blood pressure and it read 190/120.  So I immediately made an appointment with my doctor.

I went to my appointment on April 5, 2016 and had gained back 30 Lbs. and was at 234 Lbs. which my doctor had never seem me that high.  My blood pressure was 190/112/92, cholesterol 246 and blood test came back showing diabetes.  At this point my doctor added 4 medications.  I asked her if get serious and get down to my goal weight of 170 Lbs. will you take me off these meds.  She advised me that I would have to prove that I can stay at that weight but she said she would.  I had weekly appointments for a month until my until June 7th.  In the 2 months I dropped 11 Lbs. and blood pressure was back to 128/76.  She told me that I can go until Sept 20th for my next appoinment.  At my physical my weight was down to 209, my blood pressure was perfect, my Cholesterol was down 100+ points and my A1C was almost normal.  Now it's 2017 and I'm setting my last weight loss goal ever and it is 180 Lbs. by June and for the rest of my life.  The journey will be posted in the blog.
